APPLICATION

Application (2025/2026 academic year)

The Master’s degree programme focuses on economics and international law, and therefore requires a good command of—and ease with—both disciplines. It is particularly aimed at graduates in Economics, Law and International Relations.

A knowledge of Spanish is a prerequisite for admission, with a minimum requirement of level B2.

The pre-application process is carried out via the Andalusian Single District system.

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Academic transcript
  • Merits
  • Certificate of Spanish language proficiency, level B2 or higher (only for non-Spanish-speaking international applicants)*

* Valid Spanish language certificates are: i) DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera), and ii) SIELE (Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española). Both are issued by the Instituto Cervantes and must include a verification code. These qualifications are also recognised by the University of Málaga under its regulations on “ACCREDITATION OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: ACCEPTED DOCUMENTS AND EXEMPTIONS” (see the Additional Information section). More information here.

Applicants are ranked according to three criteria:

  1. Spanish language certificate (level B2 or above)
  2. Academic background
    1. High relevance (1 point): degrees in Economics, Law or International Relations
    2. Medium relevance (0.5 points): degrees in Economic and Business Sciences
    3. Low relevance (0.1 points): degrees in the Social Sciences
    4. No relevance (0 points): other degrees
  3. Merits
    1. High relevance (1 point): related to Economics, Public International Law or International Relations
    2. Medium relevance (0.5 points): related to Economic and Business Sciences or other branches of Law
    3. Low relevance (0.1 points): related to the Social Sciences
    4. No relevance (0 points): other merits

Applications may be submitted in person at the Secretary’s Office of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Málaga, or online at the UMA’s self-application system.

The approximate total tuition fee is €889.50.

The Regional Government of Andalusia will apply additional fee reductions for first-attempt passes in the last two academic years completed in Andalusia.
